VOL 3 Reminiscing - Korn @ The Forum, Kentish Town
Streety.....
Wow....after 7 weeks of travelling through thailand, the states, and central europe I arrived back in london for a few days work to get ready for the 2006 season. what better way to enjoy the post work activities of a friday than at The Forum (the church) for a 90min earbashing. I was scanning through seetickets.com whilst surfing the net in slovakia and spotted korn tickets....at the forum...too good to be true. jumped all over it straight away.
London was in the middle of a cold snap....headed to the gig just wearing a jumper, thinking that on arrival i will waltz into the venue, grab a beer and get myself a position in the pit. WRONG.....it was -4 and there was a 500m lineup to get into the venue....FUCK that i said to myself...into the closest pub for a few pints....closer to the scheduled start time i pump the pint in and head for the warmth of an aggressive moshpit....WRONG...that lineup is now at least 800m long and the doors still arent open. To keep warm everyone huddled together - strangers were united in the search of warmth. after an hour of standing out there for an hour the doors open!
the gig was unbelievable. jonathon a bit rusty on a few lyrics for new songs but the old classics were sensational as they were a few months earlier at The Brixton Academy. New songs Liar, Twisted Transitor, Coming Undone and Hypocrites got there first run on the live stage....Coming Undone i fell for straight away.
A busy moshpit given a spell after each song while Jonathon sucked on some oxygen while hiding behind his human shield of a body guard....
the classics were still received the best! awesome gig
even colder on the way out....a cheap hoodie bought from a shifty cockney bastard helped on the way home....and still worn proudly every winter since!
GOT THE LIFE!

VOL 2 Reminiscing - The Most Anticipated Gig Of My Life
My words need not get in the way of the sound and visual experience... sit back and enjoy
This postee had a fair spot!
Check out this last video....we were just a bit in front of this dude i reckon....closest vid i could find to our vantage point
The best atmosphere at a gig I have ever seen...everyone was so happy, excited and thankful for the experience of seeing Rage after a 12yr hiatus from australia...people cheering and clapping as they poured out the doors...unbelievable...
I'm Not Sure...do these guys have something against the government?
Is there any other song that can get you pumped more than this?

That mosh was the hottest thing I have experienced...36degrees, 330pm after already having spent a few hours in the pit warming up with some aussie rock
Did you ever wonder who Bill Hicks was?

1.1 The Music 31st July @ Metro, Sydney
Streety my friend, this is something I should have done years ago......should have kept a log of all the gigs I have been to however small or large they may have been....without boasting too much I'm pretty sure the list would rival most of us mere mortals.
The Music was a great gig on thurs night. It was a flashback to my time in London. Keeg and I saw them at the astoria on tottenham court rd in May 2005. That night I became a fan of The Music, having previously listened but never completely sold. The few red stripe pint tins that night got me in the mood for some cracking tunes.....on thurs night it was a few VB stubbies that did the trick.
A band that are purely as their name would suggest about 'The Music'. No outlandish statements political or otherwise, no visible ink, no backdrops or theatrics and very little on show other than 'The Music'.
Not sure of what genre they call this but I am classifying it as 'dance rock'. The light show confirmed this with some tunes looking more like a rave than a rock gig. The lighting for 'Welcome To The North' was rivalling a day club in Ibiza, while the floor and the stairs of the Metro were dancing up a storm. For some the lighting and the precise musicanship was not enough. To my right was a chick that couldnt get enough lines done off the back of her hand! Think she was that focused she was oblivious to masterclass of thumping bass & drums and intricate guitar solo that everyone else was grooving to.
The front man Rob Harvey was hard to take your focus off. He moved like a cross between a mad raver in full flight and our very own Peter Garrett in his not forgotten years with the oils. Very entertaining. The guitarist went about his business with a minimum of fuss with great precision. The drums copped a walloping for entire 1hr 45mins. Solid thumping bass throughout with a classic tribal drumming display during 'Bleed From Within'.
Good to see 'The Music' back and in form after a tough few years.
Set List
Take The Long Road & Walk It
The Spike
Freedom Fighters
Symbol Of Hope
Fire
Drugs
Human
Idle
Strength In Numbers
Welcome To The North
Get Through It
What Am I
The People
???
The Getaway
Bleed From Within
Stay tuned for Trivium......Actually get yourself a ticket you bum and prepare for the best young metal band out there.
